Q. Why FilterGate was not designed to run on a main server.
A. Rather than run
FilterGate on one server we have found that
client-level filters generally run faster than
server-level filters as the filter-processing is
shared by the client machines.
Q. Is FilterGate password protected and can a student turn off the adult filter?
A. AdultFilter is password
protected and cannot be turned off without access to
the password. Even if FilterGate is turned off at
the task bar the AdultFilter that blocks pornography,
violence and foul language will run regardless.
However all other filters will be disabled.

update our filters weekly and as a FilterGate owner you are entitled

"Let me tell you: I was using a
product called ***********, which was not bad,
but it greatly increased the logon times of Windows clients
logging onto an NT Server.
40 seconds to a minute was an average logon time.
Since I'd built a system specially geared to fast logons, this
peeved me.
Primary School kids need things to happen fast, or they lose
interest.
With FilterGate, logons are back in the 10 - 15 second range.
Which is pretty swift.
